British Doctors Reject Euthanasia or So-Called "Mercy Killing"

The British Medical Association voted overwhelmingly on 29 June to oppose the legalisation of both euthanasia and assisted suicide. Following the resounding defeat of Lord Joffe’s Assisted Dying for the Terminally Ill Bill on 12 May this was a further wonderful answer to prayer. The Care Not Killing Alliance, of which CMF is a core member organisation, led the campaign for the BMA to abandon the neutral position it adopted at last year’s ARM. CMF has received some flak as a result, almost all coming from Dignity in Dying (formerly the Voluntary Euthanasia Society) and Liberal Democrat MP Evan Harris but we have also had a large number of media opportunities to put the case against assisted dying.”
