““I have compassion on the crowd, because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat.”(Mark 8:2)
It is vital for us to note the passion that lay behind Jesus many miracles. It wasn’t for immediate glory. In fact Jesus urged people not to say what he had done often.
Jesus did his miracles because he has compassion on others. And in the one in front of us today, the miracle was he took the limited resources the disciples could find and multiplied them.
They could have selfishly kept the morsels for themselves. After all what use could such a little amount of food do for such a multitude. But when offered toJesus to do with as he chose, these morsels achieved far more than was possible.
If we too will give what we have to help others then our time, our resources will likewise be supernaturally stretched. Jesus wants to bless others. He wants to use you. Never say that you are not skilled enough, that you don’t have enough time, or your resources are too limited. The God that calls also provides.
Dare to believe he can use you today! Perhaps you have a snatched five minutes at break time that he could turn into an impactful conversation with a work colleague. Let’s start to see life as more of an adventure where we look to see what He will do through us each day to help other.
