How you can save someone’s life today. Individuals count to Jesus. Nathaniel Nabena needs a miracle

How you can save someone’s life today. Individuals count to Jesus. Nathaniel Nabena needs a miracle May 3, 2021

When we think of the needs of the whole world we can be paralysed.  Yet God sometimes puts a specific individual across your path that he intends for you to help. This article has come across your path so you can demonstrate God’s love for one such person and help save their life.

Often Christians are committed to being pro-life before birth.  It is vital that we show we are pro-life for all of life.  And so this is your opportunity to bless Nathaniel who is a nine year old African Christian boy who found himself in the right place at the right time when a very rare and very aggressive form of blood cancer attacked him.

Watch my video interview with Nathaniel’s father

Just 100 children a year are diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia  (AML) a year in the UK.  Imagine the odds that one of them should be a young boy who just happened to be in the country visiting to get a prosthetic eye fitted for a different condition.

Without modern medical treatment of chemotherapy, venetoclax and a stem cell transplant death would be certain.  This would not have been available in Nigeria where he lived. In London Great Ormond Street Hospital is one of the top places in the world to deal with this.  Whilst he is not eligible for treatment under the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), doctors at the wold-famous hospital have waived their fees dramatically reducing the cost to save this life.

One of the UK’s most popular national newspapers, The Mirror and its sister publication the Sunday People have been behind this case since February.  Thanks to the generosity of their readers and others the initial chemotherapy has been paid for and was very successful.

But without another £200,000 being raised in the next ten days the window will close on following this treatment up with a stem cell transplant.  He has a match which is itself a miracle.  This treatment may well be curative and allow him to live a normal life.

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (Galatians 6:10, NIV)

It has been a huge honor to recently get to know Nathaniel’s father, Ebisidor Nabena. He is a gentle charming Christian who is doing everything he can for his son to save his life. What father wouldn’t? It was an honour to interview him today and you can watch the interview right here:
