It is almost exactly 40 years since the march on Washington led by Martyn Luther King. Has his dream been fulfilled? To some degree yes but are blacks and whites in the USA brothers? Do they sit down in that way- I suspect not. I delight in being part of a multiracial church but am painfully aware that in the UK we are the exception rather than the rule. Having said that I still believe as I am sure M-L-K did that it is only in Christ that true brotherhood arrises.
BBC NEWS | World | Americas | ‘I have a dream’: “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed – we hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood. “
