What is it with the roads this week? Has it been this crazy on them the last few weeks whilst I have been galavanting across the world? Has it always been this bad and I have just forgotten?
We seem to be in the middle of some kind of heat-induced madness where accidents, lorry fires, the need to suddenly resurface a road during rush hour and broken traffic lights are uniting to wage war on the working population.
I hope this is a temporary glitch but when its taken me multiple hours to get home two nights on the trot its enough to drive a guy mad. Still, I was surprised actually that rather than my previously normal increasingly rising anger, I was actually quite relaxed these last two nightmare journeys.
These days, I am remarkably calm most of the time actually. Stress levels are lower for me at the moment and thats proabably part of the story. But, also, I have spent long enough waiting in airports, stations, traffic jams etc to finally realise something it seems many drivers don’t-
Getting mad about it wont get you there any quicker.
So really, everyone, chill out, calm down, quit flashing me if I am not going 90mph in the middle lane (OK, I admit it the chance would be a fine thing on the M25 wouldnt it!) and just maybe we can all get home more quickly and safely.
