Brosdee’s view has written his second post. This is always an important transition in any blog, but possibly not as much as producing the third! I am especially eager to discover any as Dotun describes it “ebony” christian bloggers out there that I can introduce to Dotun as there is nothing like some personal relationships to get blogging really going. And, for that matter, for all you caucasian christians out there, please go and encourage the guy. I have had... Read more

This morning our multicultural church in London was full of black and white faces dressed alike in traditional African clothes. Tope Koleoso preached on Celebrating Diversity and announced that he would be spearheading a new drive by our church to partner with West African newfrontiers churches. Tope leaves for Africa on Wednesday to partner with the West Africa newfrontiers family of churches and preach at a conference in Nigeria. We had such an exciting time this morning celebrating, singing African... Read more

Its obviously a divinely-ordered season of humbling for some of the more well-linked blogs in the Blogdom of God. After a prolonged season of not updating, the system is now trying to update the rankings – which some of us probably pay too much attention to. My daughter Tamasin is always asking me “whats your number today Daddy?” Today, five bloggers ought to be delighted as in a shuffling that can only be divinely inspired bloggers who are not normally... Read more

Messy has decided to stop going to church. Here’s my open letter to her, which might be relevant to other chrisitans reading this morning who are not going to church. If you are in London today, and read this in time come and join my church for African day. —————Messy, I am actually less worried about you this time than the last time you spoke of leaving church. It sounds to me like you know that church is important for... Read more

ireneQ struggles to understand why God isn’t angry with Christians who sin: “Then Blink tried to convince me that God isn’t angry with me when I sin. I was like, what?!? ‘Yeah, coz once you become a Christian, all your sins are forgiven — past, present, and future. God sees you as righteous.’ ‘But God cannot possibly be seeing me as righteous in the moment when I am sinning again,’ I argued. ‘It’s a positional thing. You’re a saint, a... Read more

I was reading Psalm 1 this morning. It struck me that this psalm has a very different attitude to God’s law than many Christians. The psalm as a whole warns us first not to follow “the counsel of the wicked” and to not listen to “scoffers”. It struck me how much these days the church does listen to the ideas of society out there, and just how much like scoffers the MSM can often be. The church today often feels... Read more

Have had a small clear out here in terms of my site design. You can blame Challies if you like. Hope it looks a bit cleaner. I am a believer in evolution rather than revolution of site design, however. Read more

I am delighted to announce that Brosdee is born. Run by a good friend of mine Dotun, I am delighted that he is now endowed with a blog. Having seen some of the things he is planning to post, I am confident that it will be a blog worth visiting. Pop, over, welcome him and pray he makes it to the second post. If he does, I suspect he may become as addicted as me! Read more

The Reluctant Puritan asks what me to suggest sermons of mine he should choose as a good introduction. I perhaps should refain from suggesting any, especially in view of the folly of mine on display in the last post. I am sure that there are many better preachers to listen to! Here goes anyway for a list of the ones I preached that I think have been most memorable to me and helped me most in the preparation. They provide... Read more
