14. Sama Uyghur Cuisine (Union City, CA) – The Bay Area has seen an influx of Uyghur refugees due to the unfortunate situation in China. Thus an increase in the number of Uyghur restaurants over the past few years. Since the Uyghur people are Turkic-Chinese people, their food is also a mix of Turkish style Kebabs with more traditional types of Chinese foods such as hand-pulled noodles. Sama is one of the best Uyghur restaurants in the Bay, since they have a large seating area with a very nice interior, great food and very good service. I recommend the kebab skewers, big chicken plate, egg plant, samsa (similar to samosas – small pastries stuffed with ground beef) and lamb with crispy naan.
Hours: 11am to 2:30pm & 5pm to 9:30pm everyday, Closed on Tuesdays.
