16. Burgerim (Pleasanton, CA) – This may be a controversial choice due to some people calling for a boycott of this brand, but you you can read my response to that in a separate blog post here. In regards to the food, this location is completely Halal and so are two other locations which are owned and operated by the same Muslim family in Fremont and Pleasant Hill. Burgerim is known for it’s “mini-burgers” or sliders, but they also serve full size burgers, wings, chicken tenders, and a variety of fries (sweet potato, chips, and onion rings, etc.). The great thing is that there is so much customization available you can get the exact type of burger you want with a variety of meats including Wagyu, Angus, Spanish Beef, Lamb, Chicken (both grilled and crispy), Salmon and of course almost any type of toppings you would want! One of my favorites is the grilled chicken slider “california-style” which includes slices of avocado. P.S. Hours: 10:30am to 9pm everyday. On Friday and Saturday they stay open until 10pm.
