18. Kamdesh (Oakland, CA) – A well known Afghan restaurant which has been around for awhile and recently moved to a larger space a couple years go. The popular items are the Lamb Tikka Kababs (pictured), as well as the Kubideh (Beef) Kabab, Chicken Kababs, Mantoo (Beef Dumplings) and Egg plant borani. The serving size is a little on the small size, but the quality of the food is very good. Plenty of seating inside the restaurant. Note: The same family owns the nearby Maya Halal Taqueria which is decent Halal Mexican food as well. P.S. Both Kamdesh and Maya Taqueria are HFSAA Certified and use Hand-Slaughtered Halal Meat.
