9. Bear Bitez (Newark, CA) – A relatively recently opened restaurant (2018), Bear Bitez puts a unique twist on the burger with a double beef patty, onions, tomatoes, pickles and cheddar cheese baked inside a flaky and tasty puff pastry. They have a chicken version as well, but I prefer the beef. The owner, Bliss, is a french culinary trained chef and you can taste the quality of her ingredients. The food is a bit pricey, considering the size of the burger, but it’s made fresh and tastes great, so it’s worth the price. The organic kettle chips (I tried Pink Salt flavor) are pretty good too.
Hours: 11am to 8pm everyday, Closed on Sundays.
