If Roe v Wade is overturned, will abortion become illegal in the US?

“January 22, 1973 – Roe v. Wade – The US Supreme Court, in a 7-2 decision, affirms the legality of a woman’s right to have an abortion under the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution.”[5]

Political engagement has risen but, according to CNN, so also has the skepticism of our government as questions arise regarding surveillance and privacy alongside worry regarding the political impacts of unelected officials, corporations and various other unknown entities on our government’s decisions.

It’s humbling to know that Trumps presidency has been far from inconsequential… as this has been most evident in the last week or so with Judge Kavanaugh being Trump’s pick for the Supreme Court.

CNN reports, “The Monmouth poll also measured growing levels of political engagement among the American public since the 2016 presidential election. Today, 36% say they think it’s very important for them to get personally involved in politics, up from 25% a few years ago, while those who said it was not important at all declined from 17% to 13%.”

The sense of urgency to protect our democracy, it’s there.

And, with this being the case one of the “bigger” topics that will be put back on the table is the overturning of Roe v. Wade…

Abortion.
