My Story

So as you can see, I’ve transitioned my blog over to a new template, and went from tumblr to wordpress, and am kinda sorta switching directions with it… a lot is changing here on this blog, and honestly a lot has changed in my life in the recent months.

After about 7 years of working in pastoral or church ministry I decided to step away from that career path, I moved from orange country, ca all the way across country to Boston, ma. with no job, no money, and no real plan as to what I’d be doing next…

And to be quite honest I still have very little idea as to what I’m going to do next. The church has been such a consistent in my life, job wise it’s really all I know, and now after “dating it” for several years, I’ve decided, I don’t want to be a part of it anymore…

I’m a college graduate, who was on a firm career path, was geared up to step into a full time well paying job, but for some reason or another I couldn’t do it any more. I wasn’t content. Something was off. So I quit. I stepped away from ministry and the church.

You see, I studied psychology and bible in college. So basically, unless I go back to grad school for psych or continue working in the church those two degrees basically mean nothing.

This has been one of the most exciting, depressing, uplifting, humbling times of my life.

I’m 27 years old, living back at home, working retail in the mall with no real direction to what I’m going to do next. (Ladies, don’t all flock at once)

I left the known and stepped into the unknown.

So I’m starting over. Completely.

Goodbye youth ministry, good bye church, and hello to what ever is to come next.
