Were Concealed Weapons Standard Practice for Men During Jesus’ Time?

Maybe Jesus wasn’t saying they should be violent, maybe Jesus was saying they needed to take provisions…

The rebellion Christ was leading was a nonviolent form of resistance.

There was no need to force something in which would carry itself throughout our last 2,000 years of history.

Strategically speaking, I’m lead to believe that Jesus was simply telling his disciples to take precaution. This will deter “wolves,” this will allow for defending oneself against being robbed or taken advantage of. And, I’m sure, if you’ve ever backpacked or traveled, you know that some utilities have to become multi-faceted.

We must remember, It was a vastly different time. We fall victim to assuming safety; within our “first world” contexts that blind us of the violent reality surrounding us.
