Were Concealed Weapons Standard Practice for Men During Jesus’ Time?

You don’t overcome darkness with darkness…

…Only light can do that.

That’s obvious, right? Considering all of history… it’s definitely not.

not what Jesus meant… [image from someone else’s blog post on this topic – i.e. 150%, not my image; a screenshot]

The Pharisees and politicians of His time wanted Jesus to play their game but, Jesus left undistracted came across as if He was intentionally ignoring them. They’d built and perfectly curated this system compiled of social constructs that deemed them as “holier than thou…” (I guess, in this time span, it was literal; in that, they literally believed they were holier than “thou” aka Jesus).

So, when Jesus steals their show (read: attention) and refuses to join their team by, creating something wholly other, they not only feel worthless… but, they feel threatened by this man stealing their light.

As you can see here there’s truth in the statement, “No charismatic comes without opposition.”

Violence is not just uncreative but, anyone who has grown up in or around violence (domestic or other) knows that violence is mostly just laziness expressed out of pure frustration and a lack of discipline. It’s thoughtless unless you’re a professional fighter of some sort if you’re swinging it usually means you’ve already lost and have decided this is your only way out.
