Picture was taken in 2014 – depicting detention facility that Philip Defranco recently reported has been shut down in the years past.

Is it Not More Loving and/or Economic for us to Build Bridges as Opposed to Walls that Will Just Become Hatefully Ineffective?

If there is one thing most of the world might unanimously agree upon it’s that westernized Christianity seems to want to build more walls than it wants to inclusively invite others to their table…

So, what then would be productive for us as Christians?

I mean, what if we actually “mobilized” (conservatives, moderates, progressives, liberals and, really, anyone and everyone outside of and in between this spectrum)? Imagine what we could accomplish. All of this debt our nation has accrued, I’m sure that we’d be able to put a big enough dent in it if we just lived out what Jesus asks us to…

“When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.”

– Leviticus 19:33-34 ESV

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me…”

– Matthew 25:35 ESV

If there are 428,000 foster children in the US and, Christian Americans account for 240 million of us then, that’s 0.178% of Americans.

Saying it another way: if we did intensive research on healthy Christian families within 10-15 years, we’d easily be able to locate a healthy suitable batch (0.178%) of Christian America that’d be able to take in these foster children. Not to mention, 1,500 children would only be .00000625% of Christian Americans needed to actually live out what they profess.

You can do the math on your own to figure out what percent of Christian America it would take to house all of the 153 million orphans worldwide.

More questions we should be asking ourselves as good stewards of our US resources: Why has there been a 203% increase of illegal immigrants attempting to crossover and into the US? What’s been the cause of this increase and is there an answer to lowering this number without dehumanizing those crossing over? Are there not ways in which we could work alongside of various countries bettering and enhancing both of our economies while, again, acknolwedging everybodies humanity?
