Why I Don’t Care About What Roseanne Barr or Samantha Bee Said…

“Rome is burning and, instead of throwing water on the actual fire we’re sitting in our homes angrily tweeting about people we don’t know (celebrities) regarding statements that weren’t even about us.”

This past week we were inundated with online outrage geared towards Rosanne and then also Samantha Bee. Oddly enough, two women at two opposite ends of the political spectrum; one right after another… it was as if both sides needed to take a shot at the other, coincidences are insane.

But, if you missed it, the short synopsis is that Roseanne Barr said something heinously bigoted (supposedly because she was on Ambien) and Samantha Bee said something extremely crude towards Ivanka Trump (POTUS’ daughter). Roseanne lost her show that was apparently being rebooted and, the White House demanded Samantha Bee’s television show be canceled. Which, hopefully, I feel like guarantees that Samantha Bee’s show will definitely not be canceled now.

(Side note: Is it just me or is it insanely ironic that the White House is calling for Samantha Bee’s show to be canceled considering Trump’s Islamaphobic policies, shameless misogyny, and racist remarks generalizing “illegal Mexican immigrants” as “criminals” and “rapists”…?)
