4.  Waiting for your spouse to “make the first move.”

This one gets so many of us in trouble, and it leads to loads of misunderstanding.  If there is something on our heart or we sense that something is off with our marriage, then we need to tell our spouse about this right away.  Waiting for him/her to “make the first move” is counterproductive.  We shouldn’t be walking on egg shells around one another.  We must be able to always speak the truth and receive the truth in love.  So, make the first move and tell your spouse what’s on your heart today.
