Thank you for your votes! Although the Crescat has not made it official yet, I believe that I have won the “Most Under Appreciated Blog” category. I’ll let you know when I know for sure.
Last night, I woke up in a cold sweat at 4 a.m. and began to pray furiously that I would lose. Why would I do such a thing after begging so ardently for votes, you may ask? Because just two days ago I realized that I was going head-to-head in that category with a priest. And not just any priest…an awesome priest.
In the middle of the night, I decided that Fr. Mathis totally deserved to win over me. I write about changing diapers and cleaning up puke; he writes posts clarifying the rules of fasting for those of us who have been woefully misinformed until five minutes ago.
I actually woke up this morning disappointed (and, okay, also delighted) to discover myself ahead in the polls. (Keeping it real here, guys. False humility is not humility at all.) So I decided to write a post dedicated to Fr. Mathis. It’s not a great post, really, but it was the best I could do while putting my two-year-old in yet another time out for throwing sand in her cousin’s eyes. It actually doesn’t express (even remotely) the depth of admiration I feel for the priests of our Church, nor the pervasive peace I feel when I even so much as see a priest in a cassock, but it’s a start.
It’s over at Virtuous Pla.net. I hope you all enjoy it! I also hope you stop by Blessed is the Kingdom and congratulate Fr. Mathis for being so

Be advised that Fr. Mathis is alarmingly close to being as awesome as this picture. Watch out, world. |
