Be Not Afraid with Gary Zimak
I had this great post planned for today, but the Holy Spirit messed everything up because he has a message for you. Here’s what happened. I started the day by doing my weekly Stop Worrying and Start Living segment on EWTN Radio’s Son Rise Morning Show. I chose a Bible verse that emphasizes the importance of putting our own worries aside and helping someone else.
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
While I was doing the interview, another verse came to me and I shared it on the air:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
After that, I was going through my email and I received this verse in one of my daily devotionals:
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. (Philippians 2:3-4)
That’s it, Holy Spirit. I give up! The great post I planned for today will have to wait. I’ll write what you want me to write. BTW, there’s a reason you’re reading this. Somebody you know needs to be comforted in some way today. Do me a favor and tell them you’re praying for them, tell them God loves them or tell them about my blog.
We don’t want to let the Holy Spirit down, do we?
