He may be a blood-spitting, fire-breathing demon onstage, but offstage, Gene Simmons is as American as they get. Born in Israel, Gene, whose birth name is Chaim Witz, immigrated to New York with his mother when he was just eight years old. He truly achieved the American Dream, becoming one of the most famous rock bass players in the world and building an empire of wealth with his band, Kiss. The fact that America made his incredible life possible is not lost on this legendary rock star:
