Mom finds cell phone that’s not her son’s, so she calls the cops

Yahoo News has a fascinating story of motherhood.  When a mother named Lakesha Robinson found a phone that wasn’t her son’s, she asked him where he got it.

Later, she realized that the phone wasn’t his – and that he had actually stolen it.  She did a little digging and found receipts in his possession — places where he’d used credit cards that had been stolen from a man’s truck.

Instead of trying to defend her son, or bury the evidence, she called the police.  Yes.  She called the police on her own son!

She believes that making her son deal with his problems now is better than making him deal with them later.  You better believe this is what I’d do if this happened in our family.  Watch her talk about this decision on Yahoo News here.

I commend this mom for teaching her son this lesson.  May his life be forever changed — in a good way! — because his mother is watching out for him, and because he learned that actions have consequences.
