5. Nazi flag flies in San Francisco

This wasn’t reported as a hate crime, but residents of a San Francisco neighborhood were shocked to see a Nazi flag flying high on a pole in their swanky corner of town. One homeowner whose ancestors survived the Holocaust couldn’t believe her eyes. She wondered how anyone could be supportive of Adolf Hitler or Nazism.

But as it turned out, the flag was supposed to be an anti-Trump statement, yet, it backfired. The woman confronted the man who hung the flag and told him it was highly inappropriate. He tried to explain he hung it in protest of Trump’s comments on Muslims and Mexican immigrants but was quickly told it looks more like he is a Nazi fan.
