8. Jewish cemetery vandalized in Brooklyn
Most recently, reports of anti-Semitic crimes have been on the rise. Jewish grave sites being vandalized became national news. Politicians have been quick to try and link them with Trump supporters for some reason.
New York Sen. Chuck Schumer was appalled to see the many toppled headstones in Washington Cemetery in Brooklyn. He tweeted:
NYPD says anti-Semitic incidents up 94%. Brooklyn's Washington Cemetery is another appalling example. It must stop. https://t.co/gtq3ZYP91v

A New York assemblyman, Dov Hikind, also tagged the incident as a hate crime and tweeted, “40+ stones knocked down here at Washington Cemetery – one of the largest Jewish cemeteries. Heartbreaking #Antisemitism.”
But then as investigator descended on the scene it was quickly discovered that the hysteria surrounding the “hate crime” was unwarranted. The reason the headstones had fallen was because of neglect, NOT vandalism.
Isn’t it funny how Schumer and Hikind became suddenly concerned that these headstones were lying on the ground, desecrating the graves, when they thought it was a hate crime? They sure didn’t care about the damage before, did they?
There are real hate crimes and racist incidents that happen. But stories like these don’t help one bit. It’s now the Boy Who Cried Wolf — there’s been so many hoaxes that when we hear about a real hate crime, we will have our doubts. That’s a real shame for actual victims.
