Sometimes all you can do is shake your head at how ridiculous it’s gotten on American college campuses. Liberal lunacy even thrives at Ivy League schools like Princeton.
A reunion for the class of 2012 has been planned and because it’s the fifth one, the graduates thought a Star Wars theme would be a lot of fun. They came up with a punny name for the event and made a costume suggestion in the invitation:
Show up to the Revenge of the Fifth in style, with a classy plastic bracelet on your arm and a Stormtrooper mask on your face.
Sounds harmless, right? Well, of course, a few snowflakes in the bunch were able to conjure up something about it that was offensive. It’s like they were looking for it! So, the reunion committee had to re-send the invitation with an urgent update:
A few of our classmates reached out expressing concerns over our choice to use Stormtroopers as our costume inspiration. We have since been informed of the origin of this word and its connections to early- to mid-20th century Germany.
This is something neither we nor anyone on your Reunion Committee were aware of but take very seriously. Tonight we made the decision to remove these costumes.
Seriously? Space soldiers in white armor running around shooting laser beams was too similar to Nazism? Give me a break!
It seems to me that if a graduate from Princeton sees a Star Wars character and immediately thinks Adolf Hitler, they paid WAY TOO MUCH for an “education.”
