Samantha Bee hosts a liberal show on TBS called Full Frontal. In a recent segment covering the Conservative Political Action Conference, she made fun of a conservative’s hairstyle, calling it “Nazi hair.” But when she found out why the young man shaves the sides of his head, she had to issue an apology and pull the clip off YouTube.
Bee sent her correspondent Michael Rubens to CPAC so they could make a “comedy” video mocking conservatives. Rubens made snarky comments about all the people he saw. He said last year was all about nerdy bow ties, but this year was all about “Nazi hair” and freezes on a picture of Kyle Coddington. Kyle’s sister Megan Coddington took to Twitter to explain why her brother cuts his hair that way:

Kyle is battleling an aggressive brain cancer called glioblastoma and is undergoing chemo and radiotherapy.
Bee responded to the tweet with an apology — sort of:

On his GoFundMe page, Kyle states:
Currently, there is no cure, but there is a chance. The doctor said it all depends on how hard we go after it, and how my body responds to the treatment. I fully believe that God is still in the miracle-making business as well! I’m putting complete trust in God and I know regardless of the outcome, I’ll be healed one way or another! Please continue to keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks ya’ll!
I’ll give credit where credit is due, though. Bee’s show became the largest donor for Kyle’s medical expenses with a $1,000 donation.
I guess that’s what it costs when you take a joke too far.
