Oh my gosh, I’m laughing so hard at this so-called feminist who went on national television to complain about Ivanka Trump’s pink dress!
Joan Walsh actually let these words slip out of her mouth — right after admitting that she didn’t want to sound sexist and that talking about a woman’s clothing is “dangerous.”
Watch it here:
Yes, you heard that right. She actually said:
The fact that she sat in for her father, in a dress that was so incredibly ornamental was such a contradiction in terms. In patriarchal, authoritarian societies, daughters have great value. They’re property. And the message that she is sending about her own value, about her place in the White House, and the place of women in this administration are pretty frightening.
It’s a pink dress with big bows on the elbows. That’s not a dress that’s made for work, that’s not a dress that made to go out in the world and make a difference. That is a dress that is designed to show off your girliness.
Girliness? What? I thought we didn’t believe that genders should be one way or the other, right Joan? That’s what feminists have been telling us all these years. Now, are you saying that real feminists don’t wear pink? Or are you saying it’s only bad when a Republican does it?
