Outraged artists demand Ivanka Trump remove their work from the walls of her home

Ivanka Trump can’t catch a break now that her dad won the presidency. Her every move is scrutinized by bitter Hillary supporters, they’re mocking her clothing line, and now artists are demanding she remove their artwork from her home.

Social media has allowed us all a peek into the private lives of celebrities like never before. Now, instead of just knowing what they look like in public, we know what it looks like on the insides of their homes.

Ivanka often appears posing in her favorite outfits on her Instagram account or with her family from inside her Manhattan apartment. Many times, she’s standing next to the artwork that hangs on her walls. Now, the creators of those pieces want the art taken down because they don’t want to be associated with the Trump family.

That’s interesting. I thought artists needed people to buy their art to make a living.

But like any petty leftists, they started a little club called Halt Action Group (HAG) and launched a campaign on Instagram called “Dear Ivanka” so they can harass her with unsolicited and hateful opinions.

Alex Da Corte is one of those artists. He wrote, “Dear @Ivankatrump, please get my work off of your walls. I am embarrassed to be seen with you.”

HAG’s website includes the following open letter:

“Dear Ivanka, we need to talk about your dad. Racism, anti-Semitism, misogyny, and homophobia are not acceptable anywhere—least of all in the White House. Steve Bannon has no place in the White House. Jeff Sessions has no place in the White House. Talk of a Muslim registry has no place in the White House. Hate has no place in the White House. We refuse to ‘wait and see.’ We look to you as the voice of reason.”

Art dealers are also involved in the smear campaign, including curator Alison Gingeras who told Bloomberg, “Through her collecting and social appearances, Ivanka Trump belonged to a certain degree to our world. I think there are a lot of artists that are uncomfortable now being incorporated, or leveraged, as part of the Ivanka Trump brand.”

So, a year ago, these artists would’ve given anything for Ivanka to notice their work, buy it, and hang it up in her apartment. But now that she is the daughter of President-elect Donald Trump, she must be punished.

This is what sore losers do.
