There are so many people writing so many things on social media.
It’s easy to stumble upon mundane and ordinary posts that don’t stand out.
It’s easy to stumble upon toxic and trashy tweets that
produce negativity and rot in the soul.
Then there are messages that stand out as
good, true and beautiful.
Social Media worth reflecting on and sharing with others.
Sometimes folks say things that express what I’m thinking.
Here is what I found on a snowy day at home
in RI home on my day off
having gone to Mass the night before.

Politics
Beth Moore@BethMooreLPM () I love Jesus. I love Scripture. I like people. I like diversity. My interactions and follows do not equal endorsements or reflections of doctrinal alignment.
I am pro life from conception to casket.
I am pro small government.
I am pro godliness and the pursuit of a holy life.
I am pro marriage and family
and pro-those God calls to remain single
and sanctified and I’m deeply thankful for them.
I am pro traditional sexual ethics.
I am pro love of God and love of neighbor
and the dignity of every person as an image bearer of Christ.
I am pro love all.
I am pro church.
I believe in the community of the saints.
I am pro Bible study to the death
and believe the aim of all discipleship is to know
and love and follow and emulate Jesus Christ.
I am pro gospel.
Dear God in heaven, I am pro gospel.
I believe there is one name by whom we must be saved.
Jesus.
What I am not is pro Trump.
Wasn’t pro Clinton. Wasn’t pro Biden.
But those were not the candidates many in the world that I loved so much were cheering on.
I accept that Donald Trump is my president.
I pray for him on a regular basis.
I’m a law abiding citizen and pay my taxes.
But I believe Trump fosters something in people that makes them lose their way.
Shane Stanford@drshanestanford () Trump is a malignant narcissist and a 7th grader still trying to get his father to love and notice him. He is mentally ill. I pray for him and agree with him in many ways but he is broken. It is not his crassness that is the problem, it is narcissism. He makes decisions out of expediency and personal gain. He is a modern day King Saul. Jesus’ words are appropriate here- ‘What does it gain a man (or a party or a people) to gain the whole world (and all their political gains and desires) and lost their souls. THAT is where we are. Yes, God used broken people. Lord knows that is true but the starting and ending point should always be Jesus not the ‘cult like’ leader whose flaws affect and dominate so much.
Criticism
Phil Vischer@philvischer () “Why don’t you criticize progressives more often?” I don’t consider progressives supporting progressive policies terribly newsworthy. I DO consider Christians supporting un-Christian policies and behavior worth discussing and calling out. It’s about the church, not the nation.
Christian Witness
Brady Bush@BradyJBush (If you want to win political points now, you can, but understand that as Christians you are destroying your witness with unbelievers. Unbelievers are seeing Christians defend blatant racism and are rejecting a God whose people look like that. Choose your priorities carefully.
Raymond Chang@tweetraychang () I miss the Mr. Rogers type of Christian. The one that models meekness, kindness, gentleness, humility, and patience – basically the type of Christian man that would be considered a Beta male today.
Catholic Spirituality
Fr. Bayer Holz@gonefishin1948 () How to Confess your sins. Confess your sins. Don’t explain why, don’t complain about other people, don’t tell long stories. Just confess your sins, repent and ask God for mercy. That’s all.
Fr. Chris Vorderbruggen@FatherChrisVor1 () Your anger and outrage can’t save you. Only the love and suffering of Jesus Christ can save you. Strive to live the Beatitudes
Friar Mario Conte@FriarMario() A true Christian is called to be the salt that preserves what is good and the light that guides others—living faith not in words alone, but in quiet acts of love that make God’s presence visible in the world.
Abp. José H. Gomez@ArchbishopGomez() We are salt and light. We are here for the sake of others: To be the salt — to bring love and joy to others. To be the light — to help others to see their way. We are born to make a difference, to carry on the mission of Christ through the simple witness of our daily lives.
Fr. Larry Richards@FrLarryRichards()Though she may forget, I will not forget you!” Isaiah 49:15 Every moment God is thinking about YOU! He never forgets you – don’t forget Him! Peace
Sheila of the Most High@sheilatebra() One of the most underrated teachings of the Gospel is that Jesus withdrew himself from social settings, crowds, and synagogues frequently to regulate His nervous system. When Jesus heard about the death of his cousin John the Baptist, Scripture says, “He withdrew by boat to a solitary place by Himself.” (Matthew 14:13) It wasn’t avoidance or weakness. It was regulation. Jesus decompressed and recalibrated His inner peace. “He often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.” (Luke 5:16)
Catholic Prayer Intentions
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifex() It is with sorrow and concern that I learned of the recent attacks against various communities in Nigeria leading to a heavy loss of life. I express my prayerful closeness to all the victims of violence and terrorism. I likewise hope that the competent Authorities will continue to work with determination to ensure the safety and protection of the life of every citizen. #PrayTogether
Fr. Dwight Longenecker@dlongenecker1 () My prayer today is for people who are locked in any form of addiction: drugs, alcohol, pornography, success, money, possessions, power. May they be delivered from their bondage by the liberating power of the cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
This is Ireland ☘️@ThisIsIreland3() Ever notice how Irish people don’t actually lose things, we just ask St Anthony where he put them?
Keys gone.
Phone missing.
Remote vanished into thin air.
No panic. No stress.
Just a quiet word.
Five minutes later:
“Ah sure, it was there all along.”
If it works, it works ☘️
Catholic Morality
Pope Respecter@poperespecter1 (Feb 7, 2026) Breaking: Reports say Pope Leo “is very, very supportive of everything that Courage is doing.” Courage is a theologically orthodox organization focused on helping gays live sexually chaste lives.
Splougy@Splougy (Feb 7, 2026) The Pope promoting chastity and loving sinners without affirming sin? The radical innovations of Vatican II strikes again.
Carl E. Olson@carleolson () We have three adopted children, and we went through two other adoption processes that were gut-wrenching and beyond eye-opening (enough said). Abortion is murder. Period. We are thankful that the biological mothers of our three children chose life (all three situations were tragic messes; again, enough said).
Catholic Theology
Larry Chapp@LarryChappGS22 () Doctrines can develop as we deepen our understanding of the truths they contain. There is also a deepening of our understanding of the synthetic relationships between doctrines. This, by the way, is how many in the Church, including several popes, came to develop the doctrine of Mary as mediatrix of all grace. In fact, most of our Marian dogmas developed out of a deepening in our understanding of Christology, soteriology, and ecclesiology, and how all of those relate to each other. For example, if the dogma of the Immaculate Conception was so perspicaciously clear and explicitly affirmed in the Fathers, why did Aquinas reject it? The Church later corrects Aquinas by affirming the dogma in the 19th century. And it does so on the basis of a development out of the Church’s Christological and soteriological theology.
Entertainment
Steve Byrne@stevebyrnelive () Star Trek: Star Fleet Academy saved my father’s life. I was visiting him the hospital. He’s been unresponsive for days. I turned on the tv in his room & watched this new show. Within minutes, my father woke up. Then he got up and changed the channel.
Reality of Reading
Cecilia Cicone @cecsquared ) I need to accept the fact that i will never be able to read all of the books i want to read
Thirty Foot Smurf@goodapplejokes: I’m having difficulty with the books I have in the house already. I keep buying them but not get to them
Cecilia Cicone @cecsquared: I mostly use libraries, I buy probably 2-3 books a year. But the library has SO many books!!!!
Boze the Library Owl ♀️@SketchesbyBoze (Feb 6, 2026) You don’t have to read books. You also don’t have to bathe or brush your teeth. No one is forcing you to do those things. But over time you will experience the effects of not reading. Choosing not to read is among the greatest acts of self-harm.
Practical Advice
MAHA Action@MAHA_Action ) Mike Tyson has a message for you tonight while watching the Super Bowl. “You don’t have to eat a bunch of junk on Super Bowl Sunday.” “Eat some real healthy food and enjoy life and live longer.” “All right. That’s my message to the world.”
