New Moon Musings Among the Waves

New Moon Musings Among the Waves July 11, 2021

I have heard that this new moon offers the reminder of resourcing. Coming back. Coming into trueness.

Return to relationships and memory. Tap into what is meaningful and what needs a reintroduction.

Are you getting what you want? Are you feeling the way you want to feel? Are you listening to the bold and wild heart of your chest and lifeforce?

I am trying.

Waves and Waves

I am trying to change the story. My story. The bigger story. The stories that I have draped over my shoulders because someone else told me they looked right. Because someone else said they were the right fit.

Shrugging them off.

Letting them rest somewhere else.

Newness requires space to expand.

Open wide.

For me, it will take small steps. Steps I haven’t taken before, haven’t tried before, haven’t tried on before. Have dreamed of and into, but haven’t moved forward.

I am. I will. I must.

How will you care for your wild heart?

How will you care for your ocean of need?

How will you cradle yourself in the waves the smooth and roil?

What now, dear one?

Tell me how you relate to all of this, to all of the spaces that have opened up or moved away. What does your heart know now that it didn’t know before, that it couldn’t know before?

(Listen. The space between beats holds oceans.)

New Heart

But my heart needs to take the front seat. And she’s hungry, tired, and scattered. This year has changed me in ways that I haven’t slowed down enough to notice, even though other people keep pointing them out.

I need to see me again.

ALSO…if you need a sign to take a break, to take better care of yourself — here it is. If you’ve been putting yourself to the side, bring yourself back. If you’ve been going full grind, stop. Even for a minute. Or an hour.

Care for the heart that keeps going.

Even when you’re sitting still. Or when you’re sleeping.

Care.

Still.

Stop.

Rest.

Do one thing right now for you.

And only you.

Tell no one.

Tell everyone.

Tell the moon.

Tell the stars.

Exhale.

Let the space guide you home to yourself.

About Irisanya Moon
I’m a Witch. I’m a writer. I’m a priestess, teacher, drummer, feminist, and initiate in the Reclaiming tradition. I serve the godds, my community, and the Earth. I’ve called myself a Witch for nearly 20 years, and my life has been infused with magick. I am interested in shifting stories – the ones we tell ourselves and the ones that are told about us. I’m continuously inspired to engage as the storyteller and the story, the words and the spaces between. I am a devotee of Aphrodite, Hecate, the Norns, and Iris. I seek to find love and to inspire love by reminding us we are not alone, while also meeting myself at the crossroads, holding the threads of life, and bringing down messages from the godds. (I've also published some books. You can get them at my website.) You can read more about the author here.
