New Moon in Scorpio: November 13, 2023

New Moon in Scorpio: November 13, 2023 November 11, 2023

Let’s talk about what you want, what you really really want.

After all, the new moon is in Scorpio and that’s where it gets real.

I know my body and heart tend to feel things intensely, as though there is a sound within me that needs to be released. As though there is a deep want knocking from the inside of my ribcage and from the depths of my heart.

I send out these newsletters around the new moon date, but it’s likely you’ll feel things before and after. I think of things in three-day windows of time, so before and after the day/time is up for astrological grabs.

Better said: all the feels, desires, and stirrings

Scorpio arrives for me as the bigger question: what do you truly want and what are you will to look at?

Are you willing to do the work of uncovering?

Will you dare to be honest and real about your desires?

Can you ask for what you need knowing you might not get it?

Are you willing to be rejected and still courageous?

I was talking to a beloved about how our lives have changed over the last while. I could say it was about the pandemic or other life events, but the conversation quickly turned to: oh, things are always changing.

The older I get, the more quickly I return to that wisdom.

When I can remember this, when I can recall that things will shift again and again, I worry less. I hope more. I settle and sink into what is versus into what is not.

What is true right now?

What do you know right now?

What do you want?

What are you hiding? And why?

If there is one thing I know about this time of year, it’s this: what is hidden will emerge, no matter how deeply you have stuffed it behind the curtain or closet or false smile.

What hides wants to be found, even if it stays really still and very quiet.

Those parts of us that hide will whisper/yell in the way we relate to others, in the choices we make to support ourselves (or not), in the actions we take (or not).

What hides is never truly hidden. Maybe masked. Maybe subtle.

But present.

This month, in the newness of the moon, I invite the possibility for the hidden to step out into the nighttime that sparkles with potential.

A small step into the world is a giant leap of hope and faith.

Maybe it’s possible to unmask, unwind, and uncover what is true for you.

And even if this isn’t the month to take any action, winking in the direction of your desire may also be the recognition that inspires movement.

Flirt with what already loves you.

After all, most scorpion stings hurt without causing long-term harm. And that hurt might be the reminder of the fragility of a moment of inattention. Or a reminder of what happens when we h0ld back desires that won’t be held back forever.

Maybe this month is the month when you stop turning your back on yourself and what wants so badly to be seen.

(I want that for all of us.)

In love and magick,

Irisanya
