Mike claims to have converted over a thousand people to the Gospel. When asked how he knew that they were converted he responded, "they just get that special look in their eye that says, 'hey, I know what you are doing and I'm digging it' and it is in that moment that I know they have accepted Jesus." Read more

Seldom do I find my heart without trouble of any sort. Each day holds the potential for anguish – the greatest of these being my never ending battle against sin. Day after day we labor to throw off what my pastor has called a “sin hangover.” Though we have been freed from the bondage of sin through the sacrifice of Christ – we are yet at war, presently, with our body. Perhaps there is no greater sorrow for the genuine... Read more

Introduction Many theologians and pastors in our time claim that John Calvin would not be a Calvinist himself if he were alive today. I think in some aspects this assertion is true. Calvin’s own writings don’t read quite as clear on a couple of points that Calvinists of today are staunch about. It does appear, at least on the surface, that on some issues he’ll state one thing and in another he’ll say something that seems to contradict it. However,... Read more

CLEARWATER, FL - A local church is pulling out all the stops to add a new ministry directed towards caring for "lost puppets". Sources report that the idea came after Jack Mercer, Coordinator of Ministerial Efforts at Living Hope Outreach Church For The Lost, was looking for new methods of outreach and digested a local Barna statistics report on the need for churches to expand their puppet ministries. Read more

Why is it so particularly difficult to tell a short, white man that he is not a tall, Asian woman? Paul’s rhetoric on something like this, I believe, would be akin to what he spoke of in the book of Romans: “Professing to be wise, they became fools.” This is precisely what happens when mankind seeks to placate the cultural god of self; in the end, everything is bound in self-refuting subjectivism and emotionalism that has little basis in reality.... Read more

It is a bit frustrating when people who don’t know me make assumptions about who I am based on faulty Christian stereotypes. Get to know me before you start assuming something. I imagine we all feel this way at times. This frustration is particularly troublesome when they find out I’m an ordained Christian minister. Below is a list of just a few of the major ones I have come across: 1. I must be a boring person – Anyone who... Read more

I am not surprised to see those outside of Christ in abject rebellion toward normal gender roles and sexuality. I have never been surprised by that. It didn’t come as a shock when the SCOTUS decision on Obergefell  vs. Hodges went contrary to the biblical mandate of marriage between one man and one woman. It hasn’t been unsettling to the biblical worldview, which has aptly demonstrated an astounding, historical-cultural commentary on the practice of man’s rebellion toward their maker from... Read more

Eau Claire, WI – Bruce Gibbons contracted a stage 4 case of the Andromeda Strain (a.k.a. La Linea Verde de Muerte; the Green Line of Death). It is rumored that the green, crystalline agent of indeterminate origins can easily cause a severe case of “death” in patients due to hyper-coagulation in the circulatory system. While researchers are in the developmental phase of research with this rare disease, they have been able to deduce that it extremely contagious and are taking... Read more

DALLAS, TX – A local Family Christian book store employee named Evan Hanson is starting to receive the recognition he deserves for still wearing his tattered and faded W.W.J.D. (What Would Jesus Do) Bracelet. The feat was noticed when a shopper caught a glimpse of the bracelet as Evan raised his left hand to direct her to the Willow Tree display. “I got it at a youth group lock-in roughly 18 years ago,” said Evan. “I don’t know how many times my, so-called,... Read more

The Bible shows us two types of promises that God gives His children. First, we find conditional promises, and second, we find unconditional promises. When promises are conditional we see God using the word “if” or an equivalent term. If the promises are unconditional He leaves out the word “if.” So, what we have in this passage is an unconditional statement of promise. Read more
