5 Prayers For Teachers

5 Prayers For Teachers March 15, 2016

Here are five prayers you can pray for teachers in Sunday school, public schools, private schools, and for colleges and university teachers.

Prayer for Patience

Great God in Heaven, please hear my prayer for the teachers who must exhibit patience in times of great stress and while in great demand every single day. Few jobs are more important to our children’s future than that of a teacher, next to their own parents, and so I pray that You richly bless the children’s teacher with great patience and understanding with the children whose future they hold, to a great extent, in their hands. They can leave such a lasting impression, either good or bad, and one that they can take into adulthood. I ask You to help them endure with patience in the great task that they face each and every day and to bless them greatly and in the omnipotent name of the Son of God, Jesus Christ I pray, amen.

Prayer for Enlightenment

Great Father in heaven, I know that You tell us that we should pray for one another and so today, I pray for my child’s teacher because they make such a huge impact in their life. I ask that You bless the teacher with great wisdom and that they make the pursuit of knowledge exciting and beneficial for the children. Bless their teaching abilities and skills and help them to enlighten the children to firmly grasp valuable truths that the teacher is charged with doing, and that they can apply this knowledge to make wiser choices in the future and to continue to help them grow and mature so bless whatever the teacher puts her hand to and in Jesus Christ’s glorious name I pray, amen.

A Teacher’s Prayer

Great Heavenly Father, as I face another day with children in the classroom, please help me to see the potential of every child I teach today and to give me understanding in how to pass on the knowledge that they will receive today. Give me the ability to see how each child learns in different ways and at a different pace and that each one is highly unique and individual just as much as any snowflake is. Give me the patience that I will need today and every day with those who are entrusted to me and that I model behavior that shows them respect and that they are to respect others and in the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray, amen.

A Special Calling

Father God, thank You for all those who teach our children, grandchildren and all those in the area in which we live. We need these men and women because they will help to lay a foundation that the children’s lives will rest upon. I know as a parent how hard it is to discipline, nurture, and teach children but with so many other children in the classroom, how this must be a very difficult job to do at times, but I believe that teachers have a special calling in their vocation. They had great enough of a desire to be a teacher that they were willing to endure four or more years of college. This shows that their heart’s desire must have been to teach, so bless them in their work and grant them the ability to multi-task that their job demands, and in the Holy, Righteous Name of Jesus Christ, I pray, amen.

Prayer for Endurance

God my Father, there is something that is very demanding about a teacher’s job. They are pulled in so many different directions. Teachers have to go to countless in-service classes, they have to go back to college to keep up their certificates ever so often, they have to spend their own money to make up for what the school districts don’t supply for their classrooms, and they are charged with one of the greatest responsibilities in society and it is caring for and educating children. Children are precious to us and our most valuable resource for the future, so please bless the teacher with physical endurance, mental strength, and continual patience with the children that they are responsible for and it is for the glory of the name for which I pray, Jesus Christ, amen.

Conclusion

If you know a teacher and can read this, thank them. If you are a teacher, thank you because I can write this! You are under-paid, under-appreciated, and overlooked but not by all of us. I ask God to bless each and every teacher and person who reads this and that God would draw them to Himself and that they might receive eternal life in Jesus Christ.
