4. Women’s Anatomy of Arousal: Secret Maps to Buried Pleasure by Winston, Sheri (2010) Paperback by Sheri Winston, CNM, RN, BSN, LMT

I learned so much about the vulva and vagina from this book, it borders on ridiculous. This book is wonderful because Winston brings decades of experience to the table in order to explain what’s actually going on with areas of women’s bodies that are largely misunderstood, when they’re taken into account at all. I’ll caution skeptically-minded readers that she occasionally goes in a bit of a “woo” direction, but most of her assertions are empirically valid. Readers will expand their knowledge of women’s bodies and also gain some techniques for interacting with said bodies, whether their own or those of a partner. Winston does a great job taking into account just how much variation there is in women’s bodies and lived experiences, which is a huge reason I recommend this book so highly.
