1. Reflect on the past
You don’t need live in the past by constant replaying the mental footage of past victories and defeats, but there is great value in looking back for perspective. Understanding the past helps us find peace in present and plans for the future. Specifically, as you look back, highlight places where prayers were answered and things went well. Train your mind to see the past through a lens of gratitude. Thank God for all those prayers that were answered. For those prayers that weren’t answered, thank Him that He has something better in mind than whatever you thought you wanted.
“But then I recall all you have done, O Lord; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago. They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works.” Psalm 77:11-12
