Missionaries on the streets of New York City

Missionaries on the streets of New York City 2016-09-30T15:59:24-04:00

On a snowy weekend, the Basilica of Old St. Patrick’s in New York’s Little Italy undertook a notable evangelization effort, which they’ve recounted on their Facebook page

In the spirit of Advent, and following the call of Cardinal Timothy Dolan for every parish to have Confessions available during this time, members of Regnum Christi joined us and conducted a “street ministry.” Priests from the Legionaries of Christ heard confessions in the church while dozens of street missionaries converged upon Soho and Little Italy handing out Rosary beads, special Pope Francis cards inviting all Catholics to join us for Mass, confession (English/Spanish) and prayer. This faith filled street evangelization began with confessions and Adoration during which everyone came up to the Sanctuary, lit candles, and placed their prayer intentions into a basket in front of the crèche.

Meantime: have you been to confession this Advent?
