The ordination was celebrated on Saturday at St. Columba Cathedral by Bishop Martin J. Amos, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Davenport, Iowa. Youngstown’s Bishop George Murry is being treated for cancer and was unable to attend.

At the beginning of the Mass, Msgr. Robert Siffrin, Vicar General, greeted the congregation, welcomed Bishop Amos, and gave the ordinandi the greetings from Bishop Murry, who is still recovering from the chemotherepy and getting ready for his bone .arrow transplant in September. Bishop Amos centered his homily around the service of the Deacon at the altar and the community. St. Columba Cathedral was almost standing room only.
