Nokia coming out with EOS phone with 42 megapixel sensor camera with Windows 8

Nokia coming out with EOS phone with 42 megapixel sensor camera with Windows 8 February 5, 2013

Nokia is coming out with a Windows 8 phone which will be a game changer.  It will be based on the optical technology and sensor used in Nokia 808 PureView.  It will boast of 42 megapixel sensor in the camera with more enhanced optics than the 808 Pureview.   After the 808 Pureview came the Nokia Lumia 920, which focused on on low-light photography via optical image stabilization (OIS)—another first for a mobile device!

Now perhaps both, the 42 MP and OIS technologies are being brought together for a phone dubbed as “EOS”.

The possible specs for the phone may be:

  • 4.3″ Curved Glass touchscreen with HD display
  • 41mp sensor, Carl Zeiss lens and PureView imaging technology
  • 1080p full HD video recording and Rich Recording technology
  • Dual Core processor with Adreno 320 GPU
  • Windows Phone Operating System

We have to understand that the camera sensor is 42 MP.  The picture, however will be 5 MP, but of a very high quality!

But the resulting images will actually only be about 5 megapixels.

However, they will be very high quality, because the both the pixels and the sensor in the new phone will be bigger than their counterparts made by other technology firms – which means a bigger area for light to be captured on. (link)

The power of the phone, experts are saying, comes from the convergence from several things that Nokia is getting together – 42 MP sensor, optical image stabilization (OIS) technology, and Windows 8.
