Essence of the One
Love is my only companion.
It is my beginning,
my existence,
and my end.
My soul calls to me
from within:
O negligent on the
Path of Love,

This may be true for Rumi,
but could it be true for you and me too?
And what about those fighters and haters
we see on the news?
Could it be that each of us
is on a journey to rescue the soul within,
the soul whose only companion is love?
Could it be that even the fighters and haters
are companions of Love,
negligent on the Path of Love,
trying to rescue their own souls,
just like you and me?
The call comes from within,
and the answer lies with the One Who calls.
Every heart yearns to remember
the Essence of the One.
