There are 2 major InterVarsity Conferences -Urbana & Atlanta- which happen to fall between Christmas and New Years Day every 2 out of 3 years. For this reason, I have to work and only get to celebrate my December 30th birthday once every 3 years. Though Atlanta is happening as you read, I, Grace Biskie am on Sabbatical. Hurrah! Or…as Ransom would say “yee-haw!”
It was a great day…
Shopping at Kohls for $3-$5 sweaters – $20 total.
Receiving a beautiful new purse from my boo – $45
Lunch at Applebee’s with our Christmas gift cards from parents – free
Watching the Curious Case of Benjamin Button during a matinee – $9
Eating a cheap frozen pizza with my hubby & son for dinner – $4
Going to Starbucks alone for 4 hours to reflect on my year, pray, read Psalms and just be with the Lord – a pricey $4 latte which I tried not to feel guilty about since I buy one expensive cup a coffee a year. (I take my caffeine in cheap diet pop, thank you very much).
Having the day just to kick around and rest: priceless.
