Two Pee’s in a Pod?

Two Pee’s in a Pod? August 1, 2010

Ransom who is 4 3/4 years old has been really cracking us up at his random assessments of the way things are or should be.  I really love watching him come into his own, managing to be cute, silly, sensitive & endearing all at the same time.

IMG_0948Last night we were snuggling up in the tent we just built in our living room.

Me:  Ransom, were go together like white on rice.

Ransom: Mama, we go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Me: I think we go together like chocolate and peanut butter in a reese’s peanut butter cup.

Ransom: Well, who is the chocolate and who is the peanut butter?

Me: What do you mean, who likes chocolate or peanut butter better?

Ransom: No, no, no, no.  I mean what color is my skin?  Do I have black skin or brown skin or orange skin or yellow skin or white skin like Daddy?

Me: After a pregnant pause and a look at Daddy, under my breath I whisper, “of for the love.”

Me: Um, well… I have slightly yellowish & slightly brown color skin because my Dad – your grandpa Green- was African-American with black skin.  You have a little bit lighter skin than me because your Daddy is white.  So, in the case of a reese’s peanut butter cup, I guess that makes me the chocolate and you the peanut butter.

Ransom:  (thinks for a few seconds)… or I could just be the wrapper.

L – O – L!

Me: Okay, well, let’s just say we go together like a Mama & son who really really love each other.

Ransom:  No, no, no, no, no.  Let’s say that we go together like two people who pull out their penis and pee next to each other.  One person is pee-ing into a potty and the other one is pee-ing into potty training seat.  And they both pee next to each other, and their both in a pod.  They are two people pee-ing in a pod.  We’re pee partners, Mama! (with great enthusiasm)! 🙂

…and then I explain where the phrase “like peas in a pod,” actually comes from.  He’s such a riot.

IMG_0986Now instead of shying away from my many picture’s of him, he gladly poses…

IMG_0988I love my son!  If your a newer blog reader you should know I spent about 6 months blogging about nothing else than my newborn, Rhys. It was as if Rhys became my whole world for that time.  I did one recent post about Ransom (with tons of cute pics of the boys), but it was high time for another!:)
