While we’re on this subject, tonight I went to a happy hour sponsored by the Young Leadership Network. The speaker was Rep. Paul Ryan, R-WI. He startled me: I was very impressed. The guy’s relaxed, passionate, and rhetorically stellar. Economic conservatism generally leaves me unmoved, but Ryan put it across. He’s pro-life, but it sounds like econ, limiting government, and health care are his main focuses. Keep an eye on this dude. (He won in a Democratic, heavily unionized district, by the way.)
