Election eve greetings

Just found this website and wanted to sign up to be part of the community.  I’m a bivocational, licensed United Church of Christ pastor serving a small urban congregation.  I’m also a Democratic committeeperson who has worn out many pairs of shoes stumping, not only for Obama, but for other Dem candidates.  My political activity is an expression of my faith; while I agree with Jim Wallis that "God is not a Democrat or a Republican," I find the Democratic party far more faithful to the Gospel values of Matthew 25, while the Republicans have created a false, wealth-obsessed, militaristic, xenophobic Jesus with no semblance to the Jesus of Scripture or church tradition.
