Remember Kingdom Come, the life-of-Jesus movie that was going to be filmed in New Zealand several years ago?
First announced in 2008, the film’s financing fell apart in early 2009, after millions of dollars had already been spent casting extras and building the sets.
The production company, South Vineyard, was still expressing interest in making the film as recently as 2013, but as things stand right now, no cameras have rolled.
Some of those sets are still standing, though, and the New Zealand website Stuff just posted an article on a group of “radical urban explorers” called Urbex Central, who took some pictures of the rotting and slightly overgrown sets last month.
You can check those photos out here.
Many thanks to my friend Andrew Irwin, who alerted me to the Stuff article.
