Ready to hear ‘We Don’t Need Another Hero’ — the Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome theme song immortalized by Tina Turner — turned into a duet between Jesus and Pontius Pilate? If so, then you won’t have much longer to wait: the soundtrack for the upcoming live musical version of The Passion is coming out March 18.

I haven’t been following The Passion very closely lately — there are too many other Bible-themed films and TV shows right now, and I suspect the music won’t be my cup of tea — but for those who are curious, you can pre-order the soundtrack now via iTunes, and Trisha Yearwood’s single ‘Broken’ is also available via Spotify.

Here is the tracklist, which was first posted by Entertainment Weekly:

1. “When Love Takes Over” – Yolanda Adams
2. “Love Can Move Mountains” – The Passion Cast (featuring Jencarlos, Prince Royce, Chris Daughtry, Shane Harper & Michael W. Smith)
3. “My Love Is Your Love” – Trisha Yearwood (Mary)
4. “Home” – Jencarlos & Prince Royce (Jesus & Peter)
5. “With Arms Wide Open” – Jencarlos
6. “Hands” – Trisha Yearwood
7. “Bring Me To Life” – Chris Daughtry (Judas)
8. “Calling All Angels” – Jencarlos
9. “I Won’t Give Up” – Trisha Yearwood
10. “Demons” – Chris Daughtry & Jencarlos
11. “The Reason” – Prince Royce
12. “You’ll Never Walk Alone” – Trisha Yearwood
13. “We Don’t Need Another Hero” – Seal & Jencarlos (Pilate & Jesus)
14. “Mad World” – Seal
15. “Broken” – Trisha Yearwood
16. “Unconditionally” – Jencarlos

This is the music video for the original version of ‘Broken’ by Lifehouse:

The Fox network has posted videos of Yearwood and Daughtry working on their tunes:

Fox has also posted these TV spots advertising the musical, the first of which features Jencarlos, presumably in character as Jesus, singing Katy Perry’s ‘Unconditionally’:

The Target and Walmart editions of the soundtrack album will each feature two exclusive bonus tracks; one of the four bonus tracks will be a new song by evangelical pop star Michael W. Smith, who is playing one of the disciples in The Passion.

The Passion will air live from New Orleans on Palm Sunday, March 20.

P.S.: For some reason this clip from King of the Hill seems quasi-appropriate:
