Noah turns two, and here’s a sneak peek at a line-by-line commentary I’ve been working on March 25, 2016

It seems hard to believe, but this coming Sunday marks the second anniversary of the North American release of a little film called Noah.

I’ve written a lot of things about that film over the years, and one day I hope to collect some of my thoughts and observations in an eBook or something of that sort.

In the meantime, I have drafted a line-by-line annotation of the film, and along the way I note what the film’s sources are (both canonical and non-canonical), what sorts of changes were made to the film as it went through development, what sorts of controversies there were around the film after it was released, and so on.

The annotation currently runs to 118 pages, and they are divided into 22 chapters, just like the 22 chapters on the DVD. (Hmmm, there are also 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet. Coincidence?) The full annotation isn’t quite done yet, but I figured I’d give you all a preview in PDF format, if you’re interested. Here is Chapter 1.
