Memorable Lines from Last Night’s Debate: Big Bird, Anniversaries, and More! October 4, 2012

After Gov. Romney said he’d stop funding for PBS, this photo began circulating around the internet. Also a fake Big Bird Twitter account was set up as well.

Last night when Gov. Romney obliterated the President in the debate, he had many memorable lines.  It began after President Obama wished the First Lady a happy anniversary in his opening remarks.  Gov. Romney congratulated him on the milestone.  Here are the top four quotes of the night for Gov. Romney.

  • “I’m sure this is the most romantic place you could’ve imagined — here with me!  Congratulations.”
  • “Mr. President, you’re entitled to your own house and your own airplane, but not your own facts.”
  • “Look, I got five boys. I’m used to people saying something that’s not always true, but just keep on repeating it and ultimately hoping I will believe it.”
  • “I’m sorry, Jim, I’m gonna stop the subsidy to PBS … I like PBS. I love Big Bird. I actually like you, too.”

Also, according to the Daily Mail, Big Bird was not too happy with Mitt Romney on his Twitter account, hastily set up by some smart person right after the Sesame Street character was mentioned in the debate:

The first tweet was ‘WTF Mitt Romney… :(‘

Later, the account wrote: ‘Yo Mitt Romney, Sesame Street is brought to you today by the letters F & U! #debates #SupportBigBird.’

Who knew Big Bird could tweet with his large, fuzzy fingers!
Do you have more quotable quotes?  Different ones?
