1 Christian Is Slaughtered Every 5 Minutes: read what the Obama administration says about this

Right now, one Christian is slaughtered every five minutes in Iraq.  This statistic is part of a new report by an NGO also highlighting, “Islamic State Militants in Iraq are using Christian churches as torture chambers where they force Christians to either convert to Islam or die.”

And yet somehow the Obama Administration is reportedly leaving Christians off their list of groups that ISIS is committing genocide against.  The Gatestone Institute explains:

As one report put it: “Human rights activists see it. Foreign leaders see it. And more than 80 members of the U.S. Congress see it. Together, they are pressuring the leader of the free world [President Obama] to declare there is a Christian genocide going on in the Middle East.”

In response, the White House said it was preparing to release a statement accusing the Islamic State of committing genocide against religious minorities, naming and recognizing various groups, such as the Yazidis, as victims. However, Christians are apparently not going to be included as victims, as Obama officials argue that Christians “do not appear to meet the high bar set out in the genocide treaty.”

How in the world can the Obama Administration say this with a straight face?  We have undeniable evidence that Christians are being targeted for their faith and murdered in massive numbers.  ISIS is not hiding what they are doing.  In fact, ISIS is boasting about their brutal rape, torture, and murder of Christians.  What more proof do they need?

If America doesn’t stand up against the evil acts of ISIS and call them what they are, we will be abandoning the values that have defined our country since our founding. Shame on you, Obama Administration, for playing politics with the lives of innocent Christians.  As we begin a new year, let’s not take our safety and freedom for granted.  For our brothers and sisters in Christ in Iraq and Syria, worshipping our Savior is costing them everything.  Let’s lift them up in prayer today and demand that our leaders take action to stop this genocide!
