Tonight Atticus and I are driving to West Lafayette to have dinner with his parents, then on to Notre Dame! Tomorrow is the Diocese of South Bend-Fort Wayne Marriage and Family Conference. It’s being held at ND, and Bishop Rhodes will be giving an address (he used to be at the Mount!) as well as Janet Smith of Contraception Why Not? fame. I’m very, very excited.
Of course, in true March in South Bend fashion, despite it being 65 and sunny there today, tomorrow will be cloudy and high of 45. wah-wah.

I got a hilarious book from the library for our 3 hour total trip this evening. It’s called “Assassination Vacation” by Sarah Vowell. She is a contributor on This American Life on NPR, and was the voice of Violet Parr in The Incredibles!
She writes about being inspired by the Stephen Sondheim musical Assassins! to do a road trip through the US visiting the sites of presidential assassinations, giving history and commentary along the way. In reading the first ten pages, I laughed out loud three times.

Today is the feast of St. Joseph, the foster-father of Jesus! I posted about it here, but we are finishing up a novena to St. Joseph, and it’s been so beautiful to reflect more on his life and his beautiful holiness.

First few weeks of using Creighton model of NFP is going well. We are still taking my temps. however, as a way of cross-checking that ovulation happened. Sunday is our second session with the nurse teaching it.
Monday we are going to Cincinnati to meet with Dr. Mattingly. We were supposed to go this past Wednesday, but he had to reschedule, so Monday it is. With the conference this weekend, and the Creighton class and appointment, it’s going to be an NFP weekend!

Atticus and I recently watched the movie 13th Day, about the events of the apparition of Our Lady in Fatima. It is such a well-done movie. It has beautiful cinematography and a very reverent attitude. What’s best is that we were able to get it through Netflix, which was a pleasant surprise!
If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it!

I think next week I’m going to take pictures of my new (to me — but secondhand) spring skirts. A fashion show is in order!
What new spring things are you most excited for?

One final note; it was a rough week in college basketball for private, Catholic schools — Georgetown, Marquette, Notre Dame. Maybe they need to get some more prayer time in? A few more rosaries or something. I’m just sayin’.
Happy Weekend!
