7 Quick Takes Friday

I should have known better than to sign up for weight watchers three days before cycle day 1. All I want to do is scarf chocolate, and make cookies. Not to mention the whole bloating thing. Not the best motivation to track my eating.

6.

Speaking of which, I have my first weight watchers meeting tomorrow morning. I joined with a friend on my block who has had major success with ww in the past. She’s a new mom too. I joined once before, and I lost almost nothing. I was a member for three weeks, and lost 1.2 pounds. cumulative. Then, I found out I was pregnant! So, it might be that it didn’t work because I was pregnant, or that it didn’t work because it. didn’t work. I guess we’ll find out!

This weekend we are going to visit Atticus’ parents. It will be Maggie’s first trip to grandma and grandpa’s! Their neighborhood has a cute celebration for July 4th, involving a parade, watermelon seed spitting contest, and lots of food.

Also, there is a possibility of blueberry picking! I love blueberries so very much, and picking them is a true delight of summer.

I have a diaper question. Since Maggie is sleeping longer at night, she leaks through her diaper almost every night. Which means I have to change the sheet and mattress pad every day. It’s getting a little old.

I was wondering if any of you cloth diapering moms had some advice. What do you do for overnights? I have two microfiber inserts in the diaper, but it always seems to leak out. I’ve used disposables at night too, but they seem to leak too.

I need help!

Have you ever seen Numbers?

It’s a show about brothers. The one on the left is a Math professor. The one on the right is a bad-ass FBI agent. They solve crimes together, using Math ideas such as game theory and lots of algorithms. Judd Hirsch is their dad. It’s awesome.

So I know I talked about Harry Potter in my quick takes last week. But I can’t help it. In just 14 days from now, the last movie is opening. I’m excited, but a little sad too. I’ve fallen in love with this story over the years I’ve read it, and now it’s coming to an end. A very epic, very dramatic end. Sigh.
