Hello Friends! As some of you might know, Elizabeth of That Married Couple and I had the chance to meet last Tuesday! It was so much fun to get to chat with her and to meet her husband, the scientist. 🙂 Here is a photo that Atticus snapped of the two of us from that day: In honor of our meeting in “real time”, and the completion of our first virtual book club, here is a guest post from Elizabeth.... Read more

Jennifer at Conversion Diary has posted her own “life lessons” from 2009, and I felt inspired to do the same. So here they are, in no order of importance, my life lessons from the past year. 1. You plan, God laughs. No, seriously. So this isn’t exactly news to anyone, I don’t think. But it’s a true lesson that bears repeating, and one which I felt a deeper understanding of this year. I did not plan to get pregnant right... Read more

As many of you know from my thesis, the issue of college-age women in unplanned pregnancies is very near and dear to my heart. The following is such a beautiful article about (1) a very brave woman named Lacy Dodd and (2) a wonderful organization Room At The Inn, which is seeking, in conjunction with Belmont Abbey College in NC to create a residence across the street from the college which will be accessible to college-age women who are pregnant... Read more

** 1 ** Even though I did post a comment to my previous post, I will say again here that I found out on Thursday that I am not pregnant. While I am disappointed that I am not expecting, I am somewhat relieved to know something for sure. I really appreciate everyone’s prayers for me and Atticus. I’m sure at least some of the relief and peace I am feeling is due in part to your prayers. It means so... Read more

I thought I’d send out an update, of sorts. Tomorrow (LP day 23) I am going to the doctor who will hopefully give me a blood test which will tell me whether I’m pregnant or just broken. I’ve waiting nearly 2 weeks for a period which has yet to arrive, and have taken 6 negative pregnancy tests. If I wasn’t charting, and didn’t know which day I ovulated on, I would just assume that I hadn’t ovulated, and keep waiting... Read more

Elizabeth (from That Married Couple) and I have recently completed a virtual book club, reading The Authentic Catholic Woman. Look for a guest post on the book from her sometime soon!. We had two chats about the book; it was so exciting to actually talk with someone I feel that I know so much about. In fact, Elizabeth and I discussed the possibility of having another virtual book club, and opening it up to any of you other wonderful ladies... Read more

I am so silly! I meant to mention/thank you/pass along these two blog awards I was blessed enough to receive from two wonderful ladies, Michelle at Musings of a Catholic Lady, and Rebecca at Feel My Love. I intended to include these in my 7 quick-takes…and then I got distracted and forgot! SO here we go: To follow the rules in accepting this award, I am required to tell 10 things about myself that you may or may not know.... Read more

** 1 ** Tonight Atticus and I are going to see the new Disney movie: The Princess and the Frog! I am really excited, and Atticus…loves me very much. 🙂 I know some people are down on Disney princesses, but I love them. When I was a little girl, after my mom died, I thought that being mother-less made me like the Disney princesses. Just think about it; I think all but one or two of them had mothers who... Read more

Eric Wrinkles, a father of two, was in the middle of a nasty divorce and custody battle when his estranged wife, Debbie, went to live with her brother and his family. On July 21, 1994, Eric broke into his brother-in-law’s home at 2 a.m. wearing camouflage and armed with a .357-caliber Magnum. In a rage, he shot and killed Debbie, her brother Tony and his wife, Natalie. Four children were home at the time of the crime. He will be... Read more
